Insurance inspections · Homestead, FLYour insurer asked for an inspection. Here's what to do.

Most insurance letters ask for one or more of three reports: a 4-point, a wind mitigation and a roof certification. Send me the letter and I'll tell you exactly which ones you need. I can do all three in one visit.

  2. Roof-to-wall strap
    Saves money

    Wind mitigation

Documents hurricane features that can lower the wind part of your premium. Good for 5 years. More about wind mits

  3. Drone view of a hip roof
    Older roofs

    Roof certification

Which ones do you need?

Use the 60-second insurance check on the homepage, or just text a photo of your insurance letter to (786) 566-8836. I'll tell you exactly which reports it's asking for, and I won't sell you one you don't need.

A quick rule of thumb: a home over 20 years old usually needs a 4-point, a roof over 15 years old may need a roof certification, and almost every home is worth a wind mit.

Deadlines

Got a deadline from your insurer?

Insurance letters usually give you 30 days or less. Call or text and tell me the date. Insurance inspections are short, and the reports go out the same day or by the next morning, so most deadlines are easy to make.

Before I arrive

How to get ready

  • Have your insurance letter handy (a photo of it is fine).
  • Clear access to the attic, electrical panel, water heater and A/C.
  • Unlock the garage.
